About the Artist

Tami Snow is a native Mainiac who spent her childhood painting with prominent Maine and New York artists. Art and creativity have threaded through her personal and professional life and continue to be an essential part of her every day. Her creative passions lead her into marketing, brand storytelling, and apparel design, however, studio and applied arts remain the driving force of her creative spirit.  While oil painting is Tami’s primary medium, twenty years ago printmaking captured her heart, as well. After years of painting and illustration, Tami embraced printmaking, mixed media, and her traditional art education as important vehicles with which to further her storytelling career.

In her “Artist Statement of Context, Content and Intention”, Snow states, “My work is identifiable by a confident use of line, color, and simple bold forms. I draw inspiration from everyday life and explore themes of hope, generosity, love, family, and the simple, quirky joys of life. I find beauty in the living form, be it human, animal, or nature and I reach into my own memories, experiences, and emotions that are personal yet universal. My art is represented in a range of mixed media including painting, hand printing, and collagraph techniques. I hope to communicate a sense of optimism, accessibility, and fun; qualities which are all paramount to my own spirit.

Tami’s work has been shown in Europe, the East Coast, Chicago, and California. She has lived in Santa Barbara for the past twenty years. She aims to enjoy each day to the fullest by bringing to life a passion for art and her unwavering optimistic outlook.
